DOT-AND-CROSS DIAGRAMS OF COVALENT MOLECULES, Covalent bond is formed due to mutual sharing of electrons during this process

 DOT-AND-CROSS DIAGRAMS OF COVALENT MOLECULES:

Covalent bond is formed due to mutual sharing of electrons during this process they overlap their valence shells to some reactant hence, they have some common area for electrons. In which the dot and cross diagram for covalent molecules only valence shells are represented with the number of electrons presented in the valence shell whereas shared pairs of electrons are represented between the two bonded atoms in the overlapped area and the pair is common for both atoms.
